    • #1 Siglum: 6050
      Old Siglum: Jm4 (= R1)
      Type: INDIAN
Current Location: Mobed Jamśedjī Māṇekjī Unvala (priv.)
      Manuscript Class: XA Sade Avestan
      Date: 1352 (? [date Āśīrwād])

Notes: The ms. was designated first as R1; according to Geldner handwriting and paper of the ms. agree with the date given in the Āšīrwād (for which see also the ms. MRL F97.16 [Dhabhar 1923b, p. 54]). The introductory prayers are supplied by later hand, also NyXwar; since G 1–5 are missing, it seems that the old ms. lost its beginning folios on which were written the smaller prayers, the Gāhs and Ny 1. The quantity of the Yašts in Jm4 exceeds the daily obligation and the quantity of translated Yašts; it seems, as if already in the 14th c. the Parsis started creating XA–Mss. that were not in correlation to the daily prayer obligations.

Manuscript History: Cf. J17; for the Yts cf. also MF28
Information: Geldner, Prol., pp. v, xl

      Manuscript Class: XA Sade Avestan
      Date: 1600 (aprox.)

Notes: The ms. which was written "in Bālbōdh script" seems to be very old. It is remarkable that the XA includes besides YtOhr and YtArW the YtTiš, YtASA and YtMihr, which are usually not part of old XA mss. The writer of the ms. is according to Katrak the same as the writer of the ms. Katrak 330.
